A Message from Megan: Celebrating 50 Years of Community Impact
Dear Friends of Riverview Health Foundation,
As we begin 2026, we’re excited to celebrate the Foundation’s 50th anniversary, a milestone made possible by the unwavering support of our community. Throughout the year, we’ll highlight the individuals, families and organizations whose partnership has shaped our mission and strengthened the care Riverview Health provides.
From our earliest board leaders to the executive directors and staff who followed, countless hours have been dedicated to raising funds that have contributed nearly $19 million to programs and projects across Riverview Health. These generous gifts have supported exceptional patient care and enhanced facilities throughout our organization.
I’m especially proud to share that more than 230 donors have supported the Foundation for ten years or longer, including 35 who have contributed for more than 20 years. Their dedication reflects our community’s deep commitment to ensuring high-quality healthcare close to home.
Thank you for being part of this remarkable legacy. We look forward to celebrating our 50th anniversary with you throughout the year.
With deepest thanks,
Megan G. Wiles

Renewing a Place of Peace: The Sheehan Chapel
Tom and Soni Sheehan have long been among the most generous and dedicated supporters of Riverview Health Foundation. Their philanthropy has made a lasting impact across the hospital campus—supporting the Women’s Pavilion, the Emergency Room expansion, and in 2006, the creation of the Sheehan Chapel in honor of their commitment to healing and reflection. Sadly, Soni passed away in December 2023, and Tom passed away in April of 2025, leaving a legacy that continues to enrich our community.
Working in conjunction with their daughter, Tracey, the Sheehan Chapel has received some thoughtful updates. These changes honor the original spirit of the space while giving it a more modern and serene feel. New carpet, wallcoverings, and ceiling tiles have brought warmth and renewed comfort to a place many rely on for quiet reflection and support.
The Chapel Garden is also being revitalized. Thanks to a dedicated group of volunteers, more than 300 bulbs were planted last fall. We look forward to welcoming tulips, daffodils, and other spring blooms in the months ahead—another beautiful tribute to the Sheehan family’s commitment to hope, healing, and community.
If you would like to honor the Sheehan family’s legacy or support serene spaces that bring comfort to patients and families, we invite you to make a gift to the 50th Anniversary Campaign.
Honoring the Legacy of Dr. Malcolm and Mary Bray
As Riverview Health Foundation celebrates its 50th Anniversary, we are reflecting on the extraordinary individuals and families who have shaped our mission over the past five decades. Few have made as profound and lasting an impact as Dr. Malcolm and Mary Bray.
For more than 30 years, the Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm Bray Medical Scholarship has empowered local students to pursue careers in the medical field. Established in 1993, the scholarship awards a one‑time $1,000 gift to a graduating senior from each public high school in Hamilton County who aspires to enter the healthcare profession. To date, more than 216 students have received support through this meaningful program.
The Brays believed deeply in nurturing future generations. Their guiding philosophy — “Learn, Earn, and Return” — captures the spirit of giving that has defined Riverview Health Foundation since its earliest days. Their generosity continues to open doors for young people who will one day become caregivers, clinicians, researchers, and leaders in communities just like ours.
Earlier this month, Megan Wiles appeared on Indy Now to highlight the impact of the Bray Scholarship and share how it reflects the Foundation’s 50‑year legacy of investing in people and strengthening community health. Watch the segment here:
As we honor our past and look toward the next 50 years, we are grateful for champions like Dr. and Mrs. Bray, whose belief in the power of education and service continues to inspire everything we do.
