Although she had never been to our facility before her stroke, Barbara McGuire chose The Mindrebo Family Acute Rehabilitation Unit at Riverview Health for her recovery after hearing positive things about our program. What she found here was more than just treatment—she found encouragement, compassion, and a path forward.
“There were a lot of things I couldn’t do after my stroke,” Barbara shared. “But the rehab team helped me overcome those obstacles. They gave me so much encouragement and kept reminding me I was making progress.”
At Riverview Health, our goal is to provide care that’s not only effective but also comforting and uplifting. From the cleanliness of our facilities to the quality of our meals, we focus on the full patient experience. For Barbara, those small but meaningful details made a big difference.
“The food was great, and the facility was always clean,” she said. “The staff were always cheerful and kind. They’d walk in with a smile and ask, ‘How can I help you?,’ which is something you really appreciate when you’re healing.”
Barbara’s journey included learning to walk again and regaining strength in her arms. With determination and guidance from our rehab specialists, she met those goals and has returned home stronger and more independent.
“If you need rehab, this is the place to be,” Barbara stated. “I would recommend this place to anybody.”
We’re honored to have been part of Barbara’s recovery and proud to offer compassionate, expert care to every patient who walks through our doors. If you or a loved one needs rehabilitation services, we’re here to help you take the next step—just like Barbara.
