Noblesville, IN – February 4, 2026 — Riverview Health is proud to announce a major upgrade to its surgical program: the retirement of its single older DaVinci robotic system and the addition of three new state-of-the-art DaVinci 5 surgical robots. This expansion significantly enhances Riverview Health’s capacity to provide exceptional care to the community, offering minimally invasive procedures across multiple specialties.

The DaVinci 5 represents the latest innovation in robotic-assisted surgery, offering enhanced precision, improved ergonomics for surgeons, and optimized patient outcomes. With these new systems, Riverview Health will continue to lead in delivering advanced surgical care close to home.

“This investment underscores our dedication to innovation and patient-centered care,” said John Bowen, Interim CEO of Riverview Health. “By upgrading to the most advanced surgical technology available, we are ensuring that our patients have access to the safest, most effective procedures right here in their community.”

On February 3, 2026, Riverview Health hosted a launch event at Riverview Hospital to celebrate this milestone with Board Members and County Commissioners and members of the community. The event featured live demonstrations of the DaVinci 5 technology, a hands-on experience for attendees, and in-depth discussions with Riverview’s DaVinci-qualified surgeons about the benefits and capabilities of robotic-assisted surgery. This interactive experience showcased how these advanced systems will transform surgical care for the community.

General surgeon Dr. John Martin says, “The DaVinci 5 platform allows us to perform complex surgeries with greater accuracy and control, which translates to faster recovery times and better overall results for our patients. It’s an exciting step forward for both our surgical team and the people we serve.”

This major advancement is a direct result of the strategic partnership between Riverview Health and Parkview Health, which was formed to strengthen healthcare services in the region. Through this collaboration, Riverview Health has been able to leverage shared resources and expertise, making it possible to invest in cutting-edge technology like the DaVinci 5. The partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving access to high-quality care for patients across central Indiana.

“Adding these three DaVinci 5 robots is not just a technology upgrade, it’s a reflection of our long-term commitment to innovation, excellence and partnership,” said Dr. Eric Marcotte, Chief Medical Officer at Riverview Health. “With this investment, Riverview Health is better prepared to meet the surgical needs of a growing and evolving community.”

The new robotic systems will be utilized across a range of procedures, including general surgery, urology, gynecology, and more, reinforcing Riverview Health’s position as a leader in advanced surgical care.
